Julien Phipps is the Chief Revenue Officer of ALT5 a digital asset management and blockchain for new capital formation company. He is responsible for all activities that generate revenue, primarily tasked with operations, sales, corporate development, marketing, pricing, and revenue management. ALT5 customers are firms with Assets Under Administration (AUM) such as Investment Advisors, Registered Investment Advisors, Broker Dealers and Family Offices. ALT5 offers an exchange platform allowing to buy, sell and trade Top 10 digital currencies deemed non-securities with FIAT currency. ALT5 is quickly emerging as a leader in digital assets and bespoke blockchain based solutions for capital formation. 

Previous to ALT5, Julien was Head of Growth in Canada for a global online fraud prevention and detection company leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict and stop fraudsters. He contributed to the firm’s success and helped them during a hyper growth stage that landed the company in INC Magazine’s 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies. Mr. Phipps trained in entrepreneurship and international business at Royal Roads University, earning his BCom. Prior, he studied at British Columbia Institute of Technology earning an associate degree in Marketing Management & Communications. Most recently, Phipps completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology executive management program in Artificial Intelligence. 

Mr. Phipps worked nearly a decade with Vancity Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in Canada, in progressively senior roles. In 2007, he joined Central 1’s CUSource team and was key in delivering board of director foundational training across the Province of BC. Mr. Phipps also gained start up experience, helping to pioneer and forge a new peer to peer online currency exchange service from beta phase in 2008 to acquisition in 2010. From there Phipps was hired and selected to lead Vancouver’s Chamber of Commerce in Kitsilano where he revitalized how the Chamber model functioned as a vital part of SME and local communities. Phipps recently spoke at IBM’s CASCONxEVOKE conference in Markham, Ontario entitled “Cryptocurrencies from Basement to Boardroom”, educating business leaders on how to navigate digital assets and blockchain with cross-industry perspectives. 

Today, he serves as an advisor to the board for the Canada One Athletic Foundation (CF1) which focuses on nurturing the next generation of leaders through excelling in youth sports, leadership, and education. Since inception in 2001, CF1 has helped steward over $1.2M in post-secondary education grants, creating community legacies valued at approx. $850K in British Columbia. Julien currently lives in Oakville with his family.
